Screening postmenopausal women through a Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DXA) scan provides a measurement of their bone mineral density and using the FRAX®, a fracture risk assessment application, one can help to further predict a women’s risk of bone fracture in the next 10 years based on various risk factors such as age, body mass index, history of fracture, daily alcohol intake and whether a patient smokes, or has rheumatoid arthritis.
